Cannot see whatsoever divergence between having a N95 with retentiveness slot(bulk of people do not remove card once inserted) and a 8GB N95 with built in flash memory, its the same flash engineering science being used, the merely difference existence that you cannot remove and upgrade the memory size in the 8GB edition. As with most technology its what you desire to do with it and how much y'all want to spend, and volition be out of engagement in 6 months time anyway!
An culling to using a usb cable is to ship/receive data over wifi or bluetooth.

Important.
It has a 5 Megapixel camera, if you are going to take a load of photos you'd demand a retention card.
They are quite cheap now.
I accept loads of videos.
If it didn't have a memory card slot hardly anyone would buy it.
Information technology's called a multimedia computer, you need retention for loads of multimedia!

Also, while the biggest card bachelor at the infinitesimal is 8GB, 16GB cards take been announced for January and 32GB cards tin't be that far behind.
At that place's also the point that, even using Data Transfer manner with your USB cablevision, the transfer rates are dire compared to having the card in a menu reader direct attached to the PC. With a mere 2GB, that's already an issue for me: what's information technology going to exist like with 4 times that corporeality of information?!

Memeory cards are no problem to buy. The thing is that with the 8GB you take enough memory. The problem comes, when you demand to transfer an important file, so you're only option would be the memory menu as you won't walk around with a usb wire. And then with the retentiveness card yous can slip it back to your telephone and view information technology using quick office or flash player. Also, retentivity cards are much more efficiant when swapping informaation. So its the only thing driving me away from the N95 8GB when y'all tin can just purchase a retentivity card or delete old pics with the new things you want to upload. So is information technology really better to get a 8GB N95...?

Information technology is ameliorate to become it.
Though yous tin tranfer files via bluetooth to whatsoever device like a computer if y'all have a dongle.
I don't remember it'd be much of a trouble.
The problem is there are better cards being released and the N95 may support them, But if you don't really need 8GB of full storage then i call up yous should become for it.

Horses for courses: if you think 8GB is going to be enough for you lot so go for it.
Personally, I know that if I had more than space I'd utilize it, no problem. I accept 4 or 5GB of music that was specially converted at the lowest quality to fit more than tracks on the telephone and so that's easily 10GB if I used decent quality. I have effectually 4GB of maps for Route66 and I'd like to have Nokia Maps, too as you lot tin't really use the Route66 maps for browsing. Then there'south around 2GB of podcasts waiting on my PC for a bit of space .. that'south already over 16GB without really thinking about it.
I'm looking forward to 32GB cards - filling those could be a scrap more than of a claiming ..

N95-1 A great phone, and I for one will not exist getting the all singing, all dancing 8GB model. Non for me thanks, I prefer i with a memory card slot that I can whip the bill of fare out of and slot into a carte reader in the PC. I ditched my E65 in favour of an N95 because it could utilize big capacity memory cards where the E65 was limited to 2GB. As others have said SD-HC cards are expected to go up to at to the lowest degree 32GB capacity.
Also, if a memory cards goes feet upward and can't be fixed you tin always fit another - but what do you practise with the N95 8GB if it's 'fixed' flash memory become US? No quick fix!!!

Merely y'all'd however need to bear circular a menu reader!!
If 8GB is plenty for you and so it's up to you which you'd rather acquit around with you, a carte reader or a USB cable.
BUT you are missing the principal points. The N95 8GB has a better battery, lots more memory for running apps, and a very slightly larger screen.

I agree with mohamed525.
My carte du jour reader is the size of a USB plug. I tin accept the card out of the phone and use it in the reader as a USB bulldoze - much the fastest style to transfer data.
There are besides places that you can take a carte du jour reader, but non a phone. What use is your N95 8Gb so!
due south.
